A ringed zoa read from the middle outwards: a dark mouth, then a bright red to orange inner ring, then a blue to purple outer ring, then a yellow-green skirt. The centre is sharply defined rather than blended, and that edge is the identification.
The name people confuse it with is Dragon Eye, and the crisp centre settles it: an Eagle Eye's rings stop where the next one starts, a Dragon Eye's face bleeds into its skirt. Beyond that it is a widely aquacultured, fast-multiplying, forgiving coral, and no seller can offer you a rarer version of it. Buy on price and polyp count and skip the provenance story.
