Caribbean corallimorph, a disc of small bubble-tipped vesicles of fairly even size scattered without much pattern, with a small mouth sitting bare in the middle. Usually one to two inches across, with mature polyps reaching two to three before they split.
How to tell it is the real thing
The vesicles decide it, not the colour and not the price. Florida's are evenly sized and randomly placed and leave the mouth clear; yuma's run in alternating rows of large and small radiating outward and crowd right up to the mouth. Since yuma carries the premium, that is the sentence worth knowing before you pay one. Ricordea florida is also a harvested animal rather than a farmed one, taken under Florida marine life licences, so a piece is cut from wild rock and the base is where to look for damage.
