A Blastomussa merleti with neon red polyps, gold running through them, and a bright blue centre on each mouth. It is sold as a cluster of small polyps, a few to a frag of about three quarters of an inch to an inch.
Red with a blue centre is the look; the blue in the middle is what the name is for, so a red cluster without it is some other merleti. Count the heads: this one packs several small polyps into a frag, where the wellsi sold under the same genus carries fewer, larger fleshy ones in red-and-green or purple. Two shops call it rare while at least seven stock it, so read that word as a sales line. No source names a farm behind it.
