A branching Montipora that encrusts first and then sends up finger-like branches, and one of the fastest-growing SPS in the hobby. The base is the green one, running light green through teal, and the polyps are the fire: red through orange-red scattered across it. The entry used to have those two the wrong way round.
How to tell it is the real thing
Genuinely beginner SPS, with the caveat that beginner here still means a tank that has been running six months with steady numbers. The useful thing to know is what fading looks like. When the red goes and the green base stays, the coral is not obviously sick, so it gets read as wanting more light, and more light is usually the wrong answer. What keepers check instead is potassium and whether nutrients have been stripped down to nothing. Neither is established as the cause and montipora fade for other reasons too, so treat both as candidates to test rather than a diagnosis to dose at.
