A branching Euphyllia whose tentacles fork near the end into bunches of rounded tips, the clustered look the frog-eggs name comes from. Each head sits on its own branch rather than along a shared wall, which is the paradivisa form; the wall species is divisa.
At the store the three get mixed up, and the tips settle it: hammer ends in a flat anchor, torch in a long flowing point, frogspawn in those bulbous bunches. Then the branching skeleton earns its keep the day something goes wrong. Frogspawn is one of the corals brown jelly takes, it moves fast and it spreads, and damaged tissue is the association that holds up. On a branching colony the affected head can be cut off and the rest survives; on a wall the tissue is continuous and there is nowhere to cut. Separately, and not as a cause of that, Euphyllia want water with some nutrients in it: a very lean tank pales and starves them.
