A small-polyp Micromussa, each polyp about a quarter inch across, well under an acan lord's, and every polyp ringed in several colours. Shops agree on red and green and most add blue; the fullest description, from the farm that sells it, runs from a lime green mouth through a deep blue ring, then yellow, lime green and a wide red outer ring. One grower believes it is Micromussa amakusensis, while other shops label it lordhowensis.
Count the rings and check the polyp size: several rings of red, green and usually blue on quarter-inch polyps. A two-tone frag of big acan lord polyps is something else. Shops price it by the polyp, from one or two up to five, so divide before comparing. Most listings show a stock photo or the mother colony, and the shops that name their lighting name blue or actinic, so ask for a photo under white light.
Low rock, gentle flow, and it feeds heavily. Holy Grail Micromussa is beginner to keep at a typical PAR of 75–250 in low to moderate flow. A typical starting range for this type of coral, not measured on this one.
