Jedi Mind Trick

Montipora. Intermediate to keep, Typical PAR 150–250, moderate to high flow.

Also sold as JMT.

Rarity tier: rare, reviewed 2026-08.

Encrusting Montipora with a cool blue to teal base carrying ruby-red to magenta polyps, the surface developing subtle ridges as it grows. The two-tone contrast is the whole of it.

How to tell it is the real thing

Frequently confused with Superman Montipora and sold interchangeably, and the pairing is genuinely close: both run a cool body under red polyps, so the difference is in the base tone rather than in the polyps, and it is subtle in photographs. Ask for it under white light.

Keeping Montipora

Encrusting or plating, and it will take the rock it is given. Jedi Mind Trick is intermediate to keep at a typical PAR of 150–250 in moderate to high flow. A typical starting range for this type of coral rather than a measured requirement for this morph. Spectrum, how it was acclimated and the system it grew in all move it.
