A Discosoma mushroom with a true red disc, splattered with purple to near-black streaks, spots and blotches in no repeating pattern. The surface is smooth or nearly so, and no two are marked alike.
Red all the way through the ground is the identification: a Jawbreaker is orange underneath with red on top, and a Kryptonite Jawbreaker is green underneath. The markings are purple to near-black, never red. The name also sits on a zoa and a plate coral that have nothing to do with this mushroom, and stock is sold as Indonesian, Australian and aquacultured alike, so buy the specimen in the photograph.
