Branching LPS whose polyps stay extended day and night, each 2 to 3cm across on a round corallite of 10 to 14mm, branching at irregular intervals. Tentacles run green, purple, blue or tan and the strongest colour is usually in the oral disc, which is commonly teal to bright green.
One of the best-value corals in the hobby: hardy, fast-multiplying and it responds visibly to feeding, which makes it a good learning animal. It is a genuinely heavy heterotroph rather than a coral that merely tolerates food, and keepers who feed meaty foods two or three times a week report noticeably faster head production.
