A branching LPS, Caulastraea furcata, in the family Merulinidae: each polyp sits on its own tubular stalk with a star-shaped corallite at the tip, and the colony is a bundle of those stalks. The species runs green, yellow or greenish brown; Kryptonite is the strain in a flat, intense neon green that reads almost white-green under blues, usually without the contrasting centre the striped and blue-eyed candy canes carry. Polyps are large for the group and puff well past the skeleton by day.
Before you buy one
Colour, and only colour, because the skeleton is the same as every other candy cane: one polyp per stalk, stalks splitting in two as the polyp divides. A Kryptonite is uniform green edge to centre; a Neon Green or Blue Eye Candy Cane has a differently coloured mouth or a lighter ring, and a plain green candy cane is duller and often browner. Under white light the difference can vanish, so judge it under blues. Stalk count is what you are paying for, and vendors state it, which is why this morph publishes per head.
