Flowerpot coral with long, wispy 24-tentacle polyps carrying more than one pigment. The tentacle count is the identification and it is countable in a photograph.
Goniopora had a reputation as unkeepable that came from wild-collected stock; aquacultured lines are far more reliable. Ask which you are buying. Count the tentacles before anything else: Alveopora is sold as a flowerpot too, has TWELVE shorter, fatter tentacles rather than 24 long ones. Alveopora is widely regarded as the easier of the two, though that is hobby experience rather than a settled fact and an aquacultured Goniopora can be very reliable, so the mix-up is not the disaster it is sometimes made out to be.
